Dr. Wesley O. Davis, Sr., serves as Founder, Chairman, and CEO of MLS Electric. Prior to starting MLS Electric in 2018, Dr. Davis spent 33 years as an electric utility executive and power system design engineer for Fortune 100 utility companies. He was a critical part of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) team that certified the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) as the nation’s Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) following the 2003 Blackout. Dr. Davis also served as Manager of Situational Awareness and Event Analysis for the Southeast U.S., where he was responsible for investigating major power outages and leading restoration efforts. Additionally, he served as Director of Renewable Energy Operations for Duke Energy, overseeing interconnection standards and the integration of renewable resources such as solar, wind, and V2G charging. Before leading MLS Electric, Dr. Davis was Vice President and Global Renewable Energy Leader at DLR Group, where he managed owner engineering practices for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and DCFC designs for clients such as Google, Mortenson, McCarthy, Duke Energy, Evergy, and the Federal Government.

Dr. Davis is a respected expert in U.S. energy policy, power grid planning and operations, solar, battery storage, wind, and EV design, along with the construction of power infrastructure. A licensed professional engineer and electrical contractor in several states, MLS Electric has been a trusted partner to electric utilities, commercial, industrial, and residential customers for nearly a decade.
