Utility Advisory Group
A Collaborative Path to Wind Energy Growth in the Southeast
Electric utilities are key to the growth of wind energy in the Southeast, where the regulated and vertically integrated utility model presents unique challenges and opportunities. Unlike regions like the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, our approach requires close collaboration rather than public and political pressure. The Coalition partners with utilities to find mutually beneficial solutions that advance renewable energy.
To facilitate this, we established the Utility Advisory Group (UAG), which includes representation from all major utilities in the region. The UAG offers input on Coalition activities and discusses strategies that drive wind energy development, ensuring benefits for utility shareholders, citizens/ratepayers, and the wind industry alike.
Our Utility Board members meet annually in person for the UAG meeting. If you are interested in joining, please visit our Join Us page.
