Montravias King, a clean energy advocate, grant writer, and former elected official, is the Founder and Managing Partner of Reimagined (Re) Energy Strategies LLC. King most recently served as Inaugural Director of the Justice40 Accelerator at the Partnership for Southern Equity, where he led technical assistance and programming for a nationwide cohort of frontline community-based organizations that were awarded millions of dollars in federal grants for climate and clean energy projects. With an equity lens, King advanced a historic partnership between the accelerator and Hope Community Bank to establish a Revolving Loan Fund to address climate solutions with catalytic capital. King's Re consulting firm specializes in technical assistance, climate and energy policy, and advancing Justice40 with green capital financing and public-private partnerships.
King, a proud native of rural eastern North Carolina, served on the NCTOWERS (NC Taskforce for Offshore Wind Economic Strategies) Subcommittee for Outreach & Engagement, where he engaged stakeholders on offshore wind workforce development opportunities for coastal North Carolina. As Clean Energy Campaigns Director for the NC League of Conservation Voters, King built capacity for local elected leaders to leverage federal climate and clean energy investments to advance community infrastructure projects. This work led him to the White House with a coalition of NC leaders to speak on the challenges and opportunities of implementing investments in rural communities.
King is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Rotary International. He graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Master's in Public Administration and a Bachelor of
Arts in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University. King lives in Charlotte with his partner and enjoys hiking, wineries, and traveling.
