Southeastern Wind Coalition
The mission of the Southeastern Wind Coalition is to advance the wind industry in ways that result in net economic benefits to industry, utilities, and residents in the Southeast.
Our vision is a future where wind is an integral part of the energy mix in the Southeast and provides meaningful benefits to communities across the region.
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
The Southeastern Wind Coalition advocates for the responsible development of wind energy to create economic opportunities across the Southeast. We are committed to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion among our staff, members, partners, and within our communities. As an organization, we are on a journey to incorporate environmental justice and energy equity into our work.
Academic and Research Institutions
Our key members include industry (e.g. manufacturers, utilities, suppliers, developers, consultants, service providers), appropriate government bodies (economic developers, commerce departments, energy offices), academic and research institutions, and other non-profit groups that share our objectives. The Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
The Southeastern Region was initially composed of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Through our work leading the U.S. Department of Energy Regional Resource Center for wind in the Southeast, our territory now includes Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
